Adarsh Railway Station Scheme
Modernisation/upgradation of railway stations is a continuous and on-going process. At present, upgradation of stations is being undertaken under ‘Adarsh Station Scheme’.
1253 stations have been identified for development under ‘Adarsh Station Scheme’ out of which 1022 railway stations have been developed so far and the remaining stations are planned to be developed by 2017-18. State-wise number of stations identified to be developed under the scheme is as under:-

No separate fund is allocated for development of stations identified under ‘Adarsh Station Scheme’. The expenditure on works of development of railway stations is generally funded under Plan Head – ‘Passenger Amenities’. Rs.917.91 crore (Budgetary sources) have been allocated under this Plan Head in Revised Estimates 2016-17.
