Sub: Bharat Darshan Trains / Aastha Circuit Trains
Ref: Railway Board letter Nos. (i) TCII/2004/Tourism/140/6.Pt dated 5.11.2004, (ii) No.2004/Tourism/140/6 dated 30.11.2005, 09.12.2005 and 04.01.2008 (Hi) No.2012/Tourism/450/1 dated 24.10.2014,10.11.2014, 27.02.2015, 27.08.2015 and 10.11.2016
Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has reviewed the charging principles and composition of Bharat Darshan / Aashta trains and decided that the charging principles and composition as under:
(i) Sleeper class Mail/Express fare for GSCN coaches and for SAC coach the fare for SAC shall be levied on telescopic basis for entire journey for the carrying capacity of the train. This amount shall be escalated by 20%. No concession, including sensor citizen concession, will be allowed and every passenger will be charged full fare, including children, as per carrying capacity or as per actual capacity, whichever is more. Additional charges for 10 seats per SLR will be levied at second class Mail/Express fare on telescopic basis, escalated by 20%, for entire journey. Pantry Car will be charged at 50% of normal rate. In case luggage portion is utilized for booking luggage, normal charges would be applicable for the entire trip; otherwise the luggage portion should be locked. No other charge will be levied additionally,
(ii) The composition of Bharat Darshan / Aastha trains will be 15 coaches comprising 12 GSCN + 1 WCB + 2 SLRs. IRCTC will be provided with 1 additional 3 AC coach whenever there is demand and availability. Ail the coaches shall be utilised by IRCTC.
(iii) The passenger tariff of Bharat Darshan / Aastha trains will be in the range of Rs. 800 – 900 per person per day in Sleeper class and Rs. 1100 per person per day in 3 AC class respectively.
(iv) There shall be 4 rakes for operation of Bharat Darshan / Aastha trains.
2. The above charging principle and composition of Bharat Darshan / Aastha trams will be valid till 31.03.2018.
3. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board).
