WR TO INCREASE 12-CAR NON-AC LOCAL TRAIN SERVICES OVER MUMBAI SUBURBAN SECTION W.E.F. 05-04-2023
Total No. of Suburban services to increase from 1383 to 1394
For the convenience of passengers traveling in Mumbai Suburban section, Western Railway has decided to add eleven additional 12-car non-AC local train services on a trial basis. These additional services will run with effect from 5th April, 2023.
According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, with these additional services, the total number of services will be increased from 1383 to 1394. The fast services that are being introduced will skip halts at Borivali and Bandra on an experimental basis. Accordingly, there will be minor changes in the timings of some of the existing services. WR to Augment Additional Services of 15-Car Local Train Services Over the Mumbai Suburban Section
- Twelve 12-Car services converted to 15-Car from 12th January, 2023
- 25% increase in carrying capacity of each train
In an initiative to provide better train services & accommodate more passengers in trains over Mumbai Suburban section, Western Railway has decided to convert 12 local train services of 12-car to 15-car services, 6 services each in both directions. Out of these 12 services, 6 services are on the Fast lines. These services will be effective from 12th January, 2023.
According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the augmentation of the twelve 12-car services to 15-car services will be a great boon for the passengers. The carrying capacity of each train will increase by 25%. The total number of 15-car services will increase from 132 to 144 over WR’s Mumbai Suburban section. There will be no change in the total number of services, i.e. 1383 services including 79 AC local services. The augmentation will provide additional accommodation to the commuters for their convenience and comfort. The details of the augmented services are as under:

VARIOUS IMPORTANT CHANGES IN THE NEW WESTERN RAILWAY SUBURBAN TIME – TABLE W.E.F FROM 01st OCTOBER, 2022

In the new Time Table of WR’s Mumbai Suburban system which will come in force from 1st October, 2022, many important changes have been made for WR’s Mumbai suburban trains to ensure better passenger convenience & comfort. Accordingly, additional 12 non AC suburban services & 31 AC services will be introduced, while 50 services will be extended w.e.f. 1st October, 2022.

Salient Features of the new suburban Time – Table of Western Railway are as under:-
- 12 new non AC services will be introduced (7 services in UP direction & 5 services in DOWN direction)while 4 services will be cancelled.
- 15 coach services has been increased by 27 services, thereby taking the total to 106 from 79
- At present, out of 79 fifteen (15) coach services, 30 services do not run on Saturday. However, in the new suburban time-table all 106 15 car services will run on Saturdays.
- Provision has been made to further augment 93 additional 12 coach services, which will be done in a phased manner.
- 31 new AC services will be introduced (15 services in UP direction & 16 services in DOWN direction), taking the current total from 48 to 79. Out of the 79 services, 26 services (13 services in UP direction & 13 services in DOWN direction) will run as NON AC services on Saturdays & Sundays
- 50 services (23 services in UP direction & 27 services in DOWN direction) have been extended
- The origination/destination stations of 23 services (13 services in UP direction & 10 services in DOWN direction) have been changed with a view to accommodate the newly introduced additional 15 coach train services
- Total number of services plying on Mumbai suburban section will be increased from 1375 to 1383 which includes 112 harbour services
- Out of 5 new services in DOWN direction, 1 will be fast suburban service from Churchgate to Virar, while the remaining are slow services, 2 locals from Churchgate to Borivali, 1 from Andheri to Vasai Road and 1 from Virar to Dahanu Road station
- Out of 7 new services in UP direction, 1 each fast suburban service from Dahanu Road to Churchgate& Virar to Churchgate, 2 slow suburban services from Borivali to Churchgate, 1 slow suburban service from Virar to Borivali, 1 slow suburban service from Vasai Road to Andheri and 1 slow suburban service from Goregaon to Churchgate.

Introduction of AC Suburban Services between CSMT and Goregaon on Harbour line
Central Railway will introduce AC suburban services between CSMT and Goregaon / Vashi / Panvel/ Bandra on Harbour line (by replacing non-ac services) with effect from 3.1.2022. These AC services will be run as non-AC (normal) suburban services on Sundays. The details of 16 services that will run as AC services are as under:

Curtain Raiser – Flagging Off Of Chalisgaon – Dhule MEMU Train
Shri Raosaheb Dadarao Patil Danve, Hon’ble Minister of State of Railways, Coal & Mines, Government of India will flag off Chalisgaon – Dhule MEMU Train service from Chalisgaon Railway station through Video link at 09.20 am on Monday 13.12.2021. The inaugural special will leave Chalisgaon at 09.20 am will arrive Dhule at 10.25 am. In return the inaugural special will leave Dhule at 10.50 am and arrive Chalisgaon at 11.55 hrs. The inaugural specials will run as Train No. 01111 / 01112 and will halt at all stations in between Chalisgaon and Dhule. Regular MEMU services will pick from Train no. 01313 / 01314 Chalisgaon – Dhule – Chalisgaon.
Hon’ble Ministers of Government of Maharashtra, Hon’ble Members of Parliament, Hon’ble Mayor of Dhule, Hon’ble Members of Legislative Assembly and Hon’ble President of Nagar Parishad, Chalisgaon will be present on the occasion as Guests of Honour.
Salient Features of Chalisgaon – Dhule MEMU Train:
- The MEMU train has bench-type cushioned seats to enhance ease of journey.
- Each MEMU coach has been provided with double – leaf sliding doors and LED lighting.
- Eco-friendly bio toilets have been provided in each MEMU coach.
- Energy efficient LED light fittings have been provided in each coach.
- The eight – coach rake has higher acceleration and de-acceleration which saves time.
- It has energy – efficient electric traction propulsion system.
Detailed Timings of MEMU Services:
- Train no. 01303 MEMU service will leave Chalisgaon at 06.30 hrs every Monday to Saturday and reach Dhule at 07.35 hrs on the same day.
- Train no. 01304 MEMU service will leave Dhule at 07.50 hrs every Monday to Saturday and will reach Chalisgaon at 08.55 hrs on the same day.
- Train no. 01313 MEMU service will leave Chalisgaon at 17.30 hrs every Monday to Saturday and will reach Dhule at 18.35 hrs on the same day.
- Train no. 01314 MEMU service will leave Dhule at 19.20 hrs every Monday to Saturday and reach Chalisgaon at 20.25 hrs on the same day.
Halts: Bhoras Budruk, Jamdha, Rajmane, Mordad Tanda, Shirud, Borvihir, Mohadi.
Passengers are requested to follow all norms mandated for Covid-19 during travel. These services will run at unreserved express fares.
