REVENUE LOSS DURING PANDEMIC

Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) The number of trains which have resumed services and are currently running daily, including mail and express trains, passenger trains, suburban trains as well as special fare trains;
(b) The time frame in which the railway services in the country are expected to resume full operation; and
(c) The details of fall in revenue and total financial loss from passenger fares and services during the COVID-19 pandemic, because of the nationwide lockdown and various travel advisories issued by Government?
ANSWER: MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW)
(a) As on 05.12.2021, Indian Railways has operated a total of 8721 train services daily which includes 1671 Mail / Express Trains and 1545 Passenger Trains.
(b) Trains which were being operated as Mail / Express Special / Holiday Special (MSPC / HSP) due to COVID pandemic and were included in the working time table, 2021, are now being operated with regular numbers and with fares and categorisation as applicable.
(c) The details of Passenger Revenue during 2019-20 and 2020-21 is as under:
