Ganpati Special Trains 2023
Good news for travelers!!! It has been decided to run the following special trains in coordination with Central Railway to reduce the extra crowd of passengers during Ganapati Festival – 2023. Details are as follows.
Central and Western Railway’s bonanza for Ganpati devotees- run 312 Ganpati Special Train Services (CR’s 257 & WR’s 55 services) in 2023 as compared to 294 services in 2022 – (18 more services this year)
Central Railway to transport more than 1.04 lakh reserved passengers ( as compared to approximately 90,000 passengers in 2022) and an estimated 1.50 lakh unreserved passengers through 257 Ganpati Special train services desiring to travel during the Ganesh festival season.
Central and Western Railway has offered a bonanza for Ganpati devotees this year. They are jointly running 312 Ganpati Special Train services (including Central Railway’s 257 and Western Railway’s 55 services) in 2023 as against 294 services in 2022. This year 18 more services are being run in comparison to last year.
The number of Ganpati special trains is as per the table below:

The unreserved services have increased from 32 in 2022 to 94 in 2023.
On Central Railway, an estimated 1.04 lakh passengers from reserved train services are expected to benefit generating commendable revenue of Rs.5.13 crore. (Unreserved earnings not added) Besides an estimated 1.50 lakh passengers are expected to benefit from unreserved train services earning respectable revenue for Railways.

Konkan Railway Augmentation of coaches in Ganpati Special Train
It has been decided to Augment extra coaches to clear extra rush of passengers, on a temporary basis in the following special trains on the days of run during Ganpati Festival – 2023.

Good news for passengers!!! It has been decided to run the following Special Trains for clearing extra of passengers during Ganpati Festival – 2023 :
1) Train No. 01592 Madgaon Jn. – Mumbai CSMT One Way Special:
Train No. 01592 Madgaon Jn. – Mumbai CSMT One Way Special will leave from Madgaon Jn. at 07:30 hrs on 24/09/2023, Sunday. Train will reach Mumbai CSMT at 22:55 hrs on the same day.
Train will halt at Karmali, Thivim, Madure, Sawantwadi Road, Kudal, Sindhudurg, Kankavali, Nandgaon Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Rajapur Road, Vilavade, Adavali, Ratnagiri, Sangameshwar Road, Aravali Road, Sawarda, Chiplun, Khed, Mangaon, Roha, Panvel, Thane & Dadar stations.
Composition: Total 18 LHB Coaches = Second Seating (Reserved) – 08 Coaches, General – 08 Coaches, Generator Car – 01, SLR – 01.
2) Train no. 07102 Khed – Panvel MEMU Special (Unreserved):
Train no. 07102 Khed – Panvel MEMU Special (Unreserved) will leave from Khed at 15:15 hrs on 24/09/2023, Sunday. Train will reach Panvel at 19:45 hrs on the same day.
Train will halt at Kalambani Budruk, Diwankhavati, Vinhere, Karanjadi, Sape Wamne, Veer, Goregaon Road, Mangaon, Indapur, Kolad & Roha stations.
Composition: Total 08 Car MEMU.

India’s Ganesh Chaturthi start on September 3rd week, Advance reservations are made generally up to 120 days in advance for all classes and all trains. The period of advance reservation (ARP) is exclusive of the day of departure of the train. But every year ticket booking opening with in a few days, ticket reservation complete. The booking of Train Nos. 09001, 09003, 09011, 09018, 09412 & 09150 will open from 18th July, 2022 at PRS counters and IRCTC website. The above trains will run as Special train on Special fare.
