North East Rail connectivity gets a Boost:

Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Hon’ble CM of Assam & Hon’ble MoS Railways, Smt. Darshana Jardosh shall flag off Train No.12088 Guwahati-Naharlagun Shatabdi Express (with Vistadome) today at 11 AM from Guwahati Station.

Guwahati – Naharlagun route is surrounded by the tea gardens along side track ideal for Vistadome experience of tourists.

Benefits:

  • Tourists can enjoy the scenic beauty of forest and hills on either side of the track.
  • Naharlagun-Tinsukia Vistadome will provide breath-taking views of Brahmaputra River.
  • The route passes through Bogibeel bridge, Tea Gardens, rain forests along the track.
  • Tourists can enjoy the marvelous views of the mountains of Himalayan range.
  • Both the routes shall cover historic cities of Assam.
  • Tourism sector of Assam and Arunachal will benefit from these new services.

Northern Railways’ Stunning ‘Vistadome’ Coach to debuts on Kalka-Shimla Route

With a view to provide a delightful travelling experience to passengers, the Northern Railway will introduce a Vista-Dome coach having see-through glass top roof that will ply between Kalka and Shimla.

This railway section under Ambala Division of Northern Railway is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Vistadome Coach (Glass Domed) will be an attraction for the tourists. This Coach with seating capacity of 36 having glass roof, modified windows and air Conditioning system will comprise of designer LED lights, window blinds and cushioned wodden interiors. This special and aesthetically-designed Vistadome air-conditioned coach CT-15 also known as Nihaar, is a first-of-its-kind in this Kalka–Shimla Railway Section.

The Vistadome coach has been modified and furnished in Carriage and Wagon Depot at Kalka.

Commuters travelling on this train will have this special coach with a glass-roof Vistadome to enjoy beautiful scenic view of the Himalayas. A unique feature of this coach is that the passengers or tourists can now sit relaxed in their seats and enjoy panoramic view from the Vistadome coach for a better sightseeing experience. Vistadome coach is likely to be put into service shortly.

Vistadome Coach, Mechanised laundry under boot model at Visakhapatnam and life line express at Sindhudurg(Maharastra) inaugurated by railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.

Railway Minister Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, today laid the foundation stone and dedicated various Railway Initiatives to the nation at Rail Sadan, Bhubaneswar through video conferencing.

Shri Prabhu dedicated Visatadome Coach and Laid Foundation stone for Mechanized Laundry under BOOT Model at Visakhapatnam. He also Inaugurated Life Line Express at Sindhudurg (Maharastra) in presence of Sri Rajen Gohain union Minister of state for Railways, Shri K.Hari Babu, Member of Parliament, Viskhapatnam,Shri P.V.K Raju, MLA, K.Satyanarayan Raju, MLC and other dignitaries at Rail Sadan.

While flagging off the train with new Vistadome coach between Visakhaptnam and Araku, Shri Prabhu said that the Vistadome coach having features like glass roof, LED lights, rotable seats, GPS based info system etc will offer to tourists to enjoy scenic beauty not only at destination but also along the journey. He also said Mechanised Laundry under BOOT Model at Visakhapatnam will significantly improve the quality of linen leading to enhanced passenger satisfaction. Inaugurating Life Line Express-Sindhudurg of Konkan Railway Shri Prabhu said it will be a great help to the poor patients.

Earlier, Shri Umesh Singh, General Manager, East Coast Railway welcome the guests. A function was also arranged at Visakhapatnam, in which a large number of Public Representatives including Kothapalli Geetha, Member of Parliament, V.Ganesh Kumar, MLA, P.G.V.R.Naidu, MLA, P.Srinivas Rao, MLA, B.Satyanarayana Murthy, MLA, K.Sarveswara Rao, MLA along with Smt Chandralekha Mukharjee, DRM/Visakhapatnam were present.
